As far as a firewall, best for free is the Windows firewall if you are using Windows XP SP2 or Vista. If not you will have to pay for a good firewall program.
Computer Associates Security Suite is offered at many different websites, for free, in various software bundles. It works well.

My broadband service uses it and it came with their package at no extra charge.

Not sure if its vista compatible, but AVG Antivirus has a free edition that rocks! Just search for AVG Anti Virus Free edition.
You'd be better off not using a suite of programs.
