You must not delete it but un-install it.Or go to control panel%26gt;add remove programes and there you can see avg.Click on remove and restart the pc.

It probably won't allow you to uninstall it while it's running, so you'll have to disable it. You should be able to disable it by right -clicking the icon in the tray by your clock and clicking 'disable' or 'stop' on the menu.
