Windows Defender is a spyware scanning and removal tool so you do have spyware. AVG free is an excellent product. I have used both of these programs together on my 2 laptops, my girlfriend's and my mum's PCs for well over a year now and none of them have had any problems with anything nasty getting onto the individual systems so you should have no problems. I have full confidence in both programs. You may have to uninstall your Tiscali antivirus to prevent any potential conflicts with the AVG software though.

From what I could see, you need to pay 3.50 per month to have Norton Internet Security from your ISP. Are you doing that or do you just think it is free and assume it is installed?
